About the Course Instructor:
Hey, I'm Katie and I am the owner of Inspire Studio. Originally from London, I made Aliyah in 2012 and opened Inspire studio, the first English speaking Pilates studio in Jerusalem. My goal was to create a space for people of all ages, sizes and abilities to come and exercise in a supportive and caring atmosphere.
My background: From ages 16-20 I trained as a professional dancer at a theatre school in London. My training was intensive (8 hours a day) in the styles of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary dance, Latin dance and Commercial dance (Hiphop and street dance). I continued on after this to certify in Pilates mat and Studio equipment instruction at a well known studio in London under my wonderful teacher Avigail Ben Ari. After completing my Pilates certification courses I spent 6 months in India studying Yoga and meditation and then did my Yoga teacher training. I then completed a six month course on Yoga and the spine with the fantastic author and physical therapist Rachel Krentzman. I spent one year studying Osteopathic medicine and here I was able to deepen my understanding of anatomy, physiology, the nervous system, injuries, rehabilitation and the human body in general and was able to complete a soft tissue massage training.
What I teach: I teach Pilates Mat and Machines, Yoga, Yoga-lates, Stretch, Barre, Aerial Yoga and Aerial Pilates, Aerial hoop and Dance (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, salsa, hiphop/street dance).
My passion: My passion is movement, anatomy and musculoskeletal alignment and my joy is to share my knowledge with others. This is why I especially enjoy teaching the Pilates certification courses which I have been running for 6 years. I hope you can join me in the journey to becoming a certified instructor so you too can feel passionate about your job the way that I do.
