Pilates Machine Classes

Working with Pilates machines is an enjoyable way to build overall body strength in a relatively short period of time. The machines offer a great way to build strength and stability in the hip joints, shoulders, back and core. Exercises are performed working against resistance (Pilates springs) and the level of resistance can be adjusted to suit each client. You will learn how to adjust the resistance to suit your own fitness level and can gradually increase the load as you get stronger. The variety of exercises that can be performed on the machines is endless. In each class, you will learn new exercises to challenge your coordination and ability. Each student can work at their own pace and level with the guidance of the teacher. Classes are taught by Katie-Elisheva, Chagit, Jodene and Shira. See Schedule below.

At the studio we have 2 types of Pilates machines - Springboards and Reformers (see videos below).

Group Machine Pilates classes are smaller than mat classes (up to 8 people in each class) and offer an opportunity for more personal attention from the teacher. We have 6 springboards and 2 reformers - you can choose to work on either piece of equipment. Exercises are performed working against the resistance of the Pilates springs. One of the great benefits of working with Pilates machines is the ability to change the tension to suit each client in each exercise. The variety of exercises is endless so you will learn new exercises each time to challenge your coordination and ability. The machines offer a great way to build strength and stability in the hip joints, shoulders, back and core. Each student can work at their own pace and with the right amount of resistance for them with the guidance of the teacher. Classes are taught by Elisheva and Shira. Machine classes are set at a different price to the regular studio classes.

LESSONS IN A GROUP:

Group Machine Pilates classes are smaller than mat classes (up to 10 people in each class). We have 6 springboards and 4 reformers - you can choose to work on either piece of equipment. Everyone in class performs the same exercise at the same time with the right amount of resistance for their level. The teacher comes around to adjust your resistance throughout the class. Machine classes are set at a different price to the regular mat classes.

SMALL REFORMER CLASSES (4 people)

Reformer classes take place several times a week at the studio with just four people in each class. This is an affordable way to work out on the reformer in a setting which allows the teacher to give you plenty of attention. You can choose your own program and work on your own goals during the class. See Reformer class schedule below.

PRIVATE PILATES MACHINE CLASSES:

A private machine class is a great way to work on your form and alignment or to work around an injury. You will receive a postural analysis and a personal program will be designed for you to suit your needs. Each class will be based around how you feel that day and what your goals are for that session. This is a popular choice amongst those new to the Pilates technique or those dealing with an injury such as back pain or neck/shoulder tension. See pricing section for details.
